We cannot talk about nutrition without talking about food, and I love food! Food plays a variety of roles throughout our lives. We eat to grow, exercise, travel, and share memories, and have celebrations with our loved ones. If food is a basic life necessity, that has been with us all along, then why is it so complex? The diet culture we live in is constantly sending us confusing messages on what to eat, and when to eat, with little, to no regard on why we eat, and how we feel when we do.
My nutritional beliefs and philosophies are rooted in Intuitive Eating, Health at Every Size, and Body Positivity. I accept and respect the natural diversity of body shapes and sizes. As a nutrition counselor, I promote eating in a flexible manner: one that is inclusive of nutrient dense foods, with a value on satisfaction. Too often, I have heard my clients tell me that they no longer enjoy food, or know how to eat. In working together, I will help you reconnect with your internal body cues, and establish what healthy living means to you.
My professional biography includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from DePaul University, and a Master’s in Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Upon becoming a Registered Dietitian, I moved from Chicago to Denver to be closer to the mountains. In my career, I have worked with clients in diabetes care, cardiovascular health, weight management, gastrointestinal health, and nutrition throughout the lifespan. I am passionate and curious about defining and attaining health, and I look forward to working with you! Please send me an email to set up your initial appointment and start working together on your individual health goals!
